1-Day Course Overview

The 1-Day Investigator course is specifically designed for managers, supervisors and safety representatives who take part in incident investigations as part of their work.

The course is run on an open basis at the Craighaar Hotel, Waterton Road, Bankhead, Aberdeen, in London and internationally. You can also book a client specific course, or courses, for your organisation, if sufficient people can attend.

Please email susan.fraboulet@kelvintopset.com or call +44 (0) 1475 560 007 to book or for more information.

The 1-Day Investigator course teaches participants the basis of the TOP-SET® methodology, as well as the specific steps of the process of investigating an incident using TOP-SET®. Up to 20 attendees attend each course, and in small groups take part in a variety of case studies and taught examples which help to stimulate discussion. The case studies can be tailored to suit the organisation.

Several concepts are particularly emphasised in addition to teaching of the TOP-SET® methodology. These are: the role of change; organisational memory; the by-passing of controls; and similar occurrences. The course also pays particular attention to the investigation of near hits and minor incidents as a method of preventing more serious incidents from occurring.
